SSD and NVMe Data Recovery
We recover data from SATA, M.2 and NVMe solid state drives, portable SSDs, and SSDs that are no longer detected.
Signs you need recovery
- The drive has vanished from the BIOS or boot menu
- It shows a strange name or a capacity of a few megabytes
- The computer freezes or will not start, with no warning beforehand
- The drive has become read-only
- Files deleted or the drive formatted by mistake
What not to do
- Do not keep using an SSD that files have been deleted from. The drive clears deleted data by itself, often within minutes.
- Do not update the firmware or run the manufacturer's secure erase or reset tools.
- Do not leave a failing SSD powered on for long periods.
How we recover it
SSDs fail differently from hard drives: usually the controller or its firmware stops working while the memory chips still hold the data. Recovery means getting the controller into a state where the memory can be read, then rebuilding the data from that.
Worth knowing
- Deleted-file recovery from an SSD succeeds far less often than from a hard drive, and we will tell you honestly if the data has gone.
- Laptop SSDs are often encrypted with BitLocker without the owner knowing. The recovery key is normally saved in the Microsoft account used on that laptop.
- Storage soldered to the board, as in MacBooks and Surface devices, is recovered by repairing the board.
What it costs
From £99 + VAT. The price depends on what has gone wrong far more than on how much data there is. Use the data recovery calculator for an estimate. The initial consultation is free, and the price is confirmed before recovery starts.

Questions
How much does SSD and NVMe recovery cost?
From £99 + VAT. The exact figure depends on the fault, and we confirm it after examining the drive, before recovery starts.
Will my files be kept private?
Yes. We open files only to check that the recovery worked, and the recovered data is returned to you on a separate drive.
How do I get it to you?
Bring it to Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to arrange courier collection. Pack a bare drive in an anti-static bag with padding on every side.
