What goes wrong with Kingston drives
- A failed A400 often shows up as SATAFIRM S11 with the wrong capacity. That is the controller's safe mode, not an empty drive, and the data is usually still there.
- DataTraveler sticks commonly fail at the connector or the controller chip; both are recoverable in most cases.
What it costs
From £99 + VAT. The price depends on what has gone wrong far more than on how much data there is. Use the data recovery calculator for an estimate. The initial consultation is free, and the price is confirmed before recovery starts.
Questions
Can you recover a Kingston drive that is no longer detected?
Often, yes. A drive that is not detected usually has an electronic or firmware fault, and the data behind it is intact. We confirm what is recoverable, and the price, before recovery starts.
Does the Kingston warranty cover data recovery?
Usually not. Most warranties replace the drive without recovering what was on it, and the faulty drive is not returned. Some drives are sold with a data recovery plan, so check yours. Either way, recover the data before sending a drive back.
How do I get it to you?
Bring it to Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to arrange courier collection.
