NAS Data Recovery
We recover data from network storage for homes and small offices, including units that have failed, been reset, or been hit by ransomware.
Signs you need recovery
- The NAS is unreachable or stuck starting up
- A volume has crashed or shows as missing
- Drives show as failed or not initialised
- Shared folders are empty
- Files have been encrypted and renamed
What not to do
- Do not reset or reinstall the NAS operating system.
- Do not connect the drives to a Windows PC and accept the offer to initialise them.
- Do not replace a drive and rebuild until the data has been copied elsewhere.
- Disconnect the NAS from the internet if you suspect ransomware.
How we recover it
We image every drive, reassemble the storage outside the NAS and copy the data from there. That works whether the fault is in the drives, the volume or the NAS itself.
Worth knowing
- NAS drives are formatted with Linux file systems, so they look blank or unformatted to Windows and macOS.
- A NAS exposed to the internet for remote access is a common way in for ransomware.
What it costs
From £99 + VAT. The price depends on what has gone wrong far more than on how much data there is. Use the data recovery calculator for an estimate. The initial consultation is free, and the price is confirmed before recovery starts.

Questions
How much does NAS recovery cost?
From £99 + VAT. The exact figure depends on the fault, and we confirm it after examining the drive, before recovery starts.
Will my files be kept private?
Yes. We open files only to check that the recovery worked, and the recovered data is returned to you on a separate drive.
How do I get it to you?
Bring it to Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to arrange courier collection. Pack a bare drive in an anti-static bag with padding on every side.
