Mac Data Recovery
We recover data from MacBook, iMac, Mac mini and Mac Studio computers, and from Time Machine and other Mac-formatted drives.
Signs you need recovery
- A flashing folder with a question mark
- The Mac will not turn on, and the files are only on that Mac
- A drive that will not mount in Disk Utility
- A Fusion Drive that has split into two volumes
- Files deleted and the Trash emptied
What not to do
- Do not erase or reinstall macOS before the data has been copied off.
- Do not replace one half of a Fusion Drive.
- Do not keep trying to start a Mac that has had liquid in it.
How we recover it
For Macs with removable storage, the drive or SSD module is taken out and imaged. For Macs with built-in encrypted storage, the logic board is repaired far enough to start the Mac and copy the data off.
Worth knowing
- If you have a Time Machine or iCloud backup, tell us. It may be a quicker route to your files than recovering the Mac's own storage.
- APFS, used since 2017, makes deleted-file recovery harder than on older Mac formats.
What it costs
From £99 + VAT. The price depends on what has gone wrong far more than on how much data there is. Use the data recovery calculator for an estimate. The initial consultation is free, and the price is confirmed before recovery starts.

Questions
How much does Mac recovery cost?
From £99 + VAT. The exact figure depends on the fault, and we confirm it after examining the drive, before recovery starts.
Will my files be kept private?
Yes. We open files only to check that the recovery worked, and the recovered data is returned to you on a separate drive.
How do I get it to you?
Bring it to Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to arrange courier collection. Pack a bare drive in an anti-static bag with padding on every side.
