Deleted File and Formatted Drive Recovery
We recover files that were deleted, drives that were formatted, and partitions that disappeared after a failed update or reinstall.
Signs you need recovery
- Files deleted and the Recycle Bin or Trash emptied
- A drive formatted by mistake
- Windows reinstalled over the top of existing files
- A partition that has vanished
- Folders that open but are empty
What not to do
- Stop using the drive at once. Anything new written to it can overwrite what you want back.
- Do not install recovery software on the same drive.
- Do not save recovered files back to the drive they came from.
How we recover it
We image the drive and search the image for the old file system records and for the files themselves. On a hard drive that has not been used since, results are often very good.
Worth knowing
- On SSDs, and on hard drives that use shingled recording, deleted data is cleared by the drive itself and often cannot be recovered. We check before charging for a full recovery.
- A quick format leaves most data in place. A full format, or a factory reset, usually does not.
What it costs
From £99 + VAT. The price depends on what has gone wrong far more than on how much data there is. Use the data recovery calculator for an estimate. The initial consultation is free, and the price is confirmed before recovery starts.

Questions
How much does deleted file and formatted drive recovery cost?
From £99 + VAT. The exact figure depends on the fault, and we confirm it after examining the drive, before recovery starts.
Will my files be kept private?
Yes. We open files only to check that the recovery worked, and the recovered data is returned to you on a separate drive.
How do I get it to you?
Bring it to Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to arrange courier collection. Pack a bare drive in an anti-static bag with padding on every side.
