Charging port and power repair
We replace worn charging sockets and repair USB-C ports and charging circuits at component level. The adapter is tested first, because it is the cheapest thing to be wrong.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Lenovo Yoga 520-14IKB takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Lenovo Yoga 520-14IKB have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
Windows repair and reinstall
Windows 11 support depends on the processor: versions with an 8th-generation Intel Core or Ryzen 2000-series chip or newer qualify, and earlier ones do not. We check yours and advise.
Battery replacement
We replace the internal battery and check the charging circuit and adapter at the same time. On a 2017 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.
Price confirmed before work starts
We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Lenovo Yoga 520-14IKB, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
What we see on the bench
- Yoga 360-degree hinges loosen or seize over time, and a stiff hinge can crack the display glass.
- Memory is soldered on most Yoga and Yoga Slim models.
- The touchscreen is a bonded assembly and is replaced as one part.

Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Lenovo Yoga 520-14IKB be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My Lenovo Yoga 520-14IKB will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
Is a 2017 Lenovo Yoga 520-14IKB still worth repairing?
It depends on the fault. A battery, SSD or charging socket is usually worth doing. A major board repair on an older machine may cost more than the machine is worth, and if that is the case we will say so.
Where do I find the model number on my 2-in-1 laptop?
The base label shows the model name and a machine type, four characters such as 20W0 or 82H8. For this model, look for 520-14IKB.
