Battery replacement
We replace the internal battery and check the charging circuit and adapter at the same time. On a 2022 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

Charging port and power repair
Depending on the configuration this charges through a round socket, USB-C or both. We test the adapter, the port and the charging circuit to find which has failed.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15IAL7 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Known issues with the IdeaPad range
- Lenovo’s model codes, such as 15ITL6 or 14ALC05, identify the exact generation and processor family, which is what we match parts to.
- Many IdeaPads have some memory soldered and one slot free; some have none free.
- Hinge mounts on IdeaPad and Flex models can break away from the lid or base, especially on thinner chassis.
Data recovery from the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15IAL7
The SSD in the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15IAL7 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start. Recent Windows machines often have device encryption or BitLocker switched on. If so we will need the recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.
Estimate the cost with our data recovery calculator, or read about recovering files after a ransomware attack.
