If your Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition has a broken screen, will not charge, runs hot or will not start, we can diagnose and repair it at our Bermondsey workshop. The Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition is a 2022 Chromebook with a 13.5-inch screen. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

Repairs we carry out on the Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition
Screen replacement
A broken 13.5-inch screen is replaced with a panel of the same resolution and finish. We check the display cable while the lid is open.

ChromeOS recovery
We restore ChromeOS from a recovery image when the device shows a missing or damaged system message, and check its automatic update end date for you.
Battery replacement
The battery is internal and held by screws. We fit a new one, then calibrate and test it under load. On a 2022 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

Charging port and power repair
Charging is over USB-C. A loose or dead port is replaced where it is a separate part, or repaired on the motherboard where it is soldered.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, hinge and casing repair on the Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults and data transfer to a new machine.
Known issues with the Framework Laptop range
- Framework laptops are designed to be repaired, and every part is available separately.
- We can fit parts you have bought yourself or diagnose which module has failed.
Data recovery from the Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition
Most of what is on a Chromebook lives in the Google account and Google Drive, and comes back when you sign in on another device. Files kept only in the local Downloads folder are encrypted and tied to the account, so recovery from a dead Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition is limited. We will tell you honestly what is possible.

Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.

Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
