What we repair on the Dell Inspiron 17 5755
Screen replacement
Cracked, flickering or lined 17.3-inch screens are replaced with a matching panel. Where the picture comes and goes as the lid moves, we check the display cable and hinges first.

Windows repair and reinstall
This model does not meet Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements, and Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025. We can advise on the realistic options, including a lightweight Linux or ChromeOS Flex installation.
Battery replacement
The battery is internal and held by screws. We fit a new one, then calibrate and test it under load. At this age, short runtime and sudden shutdowns usually point to a worn battery and not a board fault.

Charging port and power repair
The round charging socket wears and works loose. On most configurations it is a separate part on a short cable and is replaced without motherboard work.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Dell Inspiron 17 5755 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
Whether memory can be upgraded on the Dell Inspiron 17 5755 depends on the exact configuration. We check against the serial number before quoting.
We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Dell Inspiron 17 5755, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Notes from the workshop
- Many configurations shipped with a mechanical hard drive. Moving to an SSD is the most noticeable improvement for the money.
- The charging socket is a separate part on most models and can be replaced without touching the motherboard.
- Hinge mounts in the lid and base are a known weak point on Inspiron laptops. Caught early it is a hinge and bracket repair; left alone it can break the screen bezel and back cover.
Data recovery from the Dell Inspiron 17 5755
The SSD in the Dell Inspiron 17 5755 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start.

Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Dell Inspiron 17 5755 be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory depends on the configuration, which we check from the serial number.
My Dell Inspiron 17 5755 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
Can the Dell Inspiron 17 5755 run Windows 11?
Not officially. It does not meet Microsoft's processor and security requirements.
