If your MSI GF75 Thin 9SC has a broken screen, will not charge, runs hot or will not start, we can diagnose and repair it at our Bermondsey workshop. It is a 17.3-inch gaming laptop from 2020. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

MSI GF75 Thin 9SC repairs and upgrades
Screen replacement
We replace the 17.3-inch panel with one that matches the original resolution and refresh rate. A cheaper 60Hz panel will physically fit many gaming laptops, and we do not fit one unless you ask for it.

Battery replacement
We replace the internal battery and check the charging circuit and adapter at the same time. A battery of this age that swells should be replaced before it damages the trackpad or casing.

Charging port and power repair
Depending on the configuration this charges through a round socket, USB-C or both. We test the adapter, the port and the charging circuit to find which has failed.
Overheating and fan repair
We strip the cooling system, clean the fans and heatsink fins and renew the thermal compound and pads. We check temperatures under load afterwards.
SSD and storage upgrade
Most configurations of the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC have two M.2 slots, so a second SSD can be added, or the existing one cloned to a larger drive.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
Graphics repair
The graphics chip is soldered to the board. Artefacts, crashes under load and a black screen with the fans running are diagnosed to the chip, its memory or its power stage, and repaired at board level where it is economical.
Windows repair and reinstall
The MSI GF75 Thin 9SC meets Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements in most configurations. We upgrade from Windows 10, which reached end of support in October 2025, or reinstall Windows 11 cleanly with your files kept.
We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Notes from the workshop
- Hinge failures are a well-known problem on MSI’s GF, GL and GP ranges; the hinge tears its mounts from the lid or base.
- Thermal servicing is routine work on these: fresh compound, new pads where needed, and clean fans.
- The base label carries an MS- chassis number, such as MS-16R4, which we use to match parts.
Data recovery from the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC
The SSD in the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start. Recent Windows machines often have device encryption or BitLocker switched on. If so we will need the recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.

Where the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC sits in the range
Its nearest relatives in the MSI gaming laptops range are the older MSI GT76 Titan DT (2019) and the newer MSI Raider GE76 11U (2021).
Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced, and most configurations have a second M.2 slot. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My MSI GF75 Thin 9SC will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
Why does my MSI GF75 Thin 9SC overheat or slow down in games?
Usually dust in the heatsinks and thermal compound that has dried out. A thermal service fixes it in most cases. If temperatures are normal and it still slows down, we test the graphics chip and power delivery.
How much does a MSI GF75 Thin 9SC screen replacement cost?
Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
