We repair the Honor MagicBook 14 (2020 AMD) at our workshop in Bermondsey, from cracked screens and worn batteries to board faults and data recovery. The Honor MagicBook 14 is a 2020 laptop with a 14-inch screen, identified by model number NBL-WAQ9HNR. The SSD can be replaced but the memory is soldered, so storage is the only upgrade.

Screen replacement

Charging port and power repair
Charging is over USB-C. A loose or dead port is replaced where it is a separate part, or repaired on the motherboard where it is soldered.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Honor MagicBook 14 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory
Memory in the Honor MagicBook 14 is soldered and cannot be upgraded. It is worth knowing this before paying anyone for a memory upgrade.
Windows repair and reinstall
The Honor MagicBook 14 meets Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements in most configurations. We upgrade from Windows 10, which reached end of support in October 2025, or reinstall Windows 11 cleanly with your files kept.
Battery replacement
We replace the internal battery and check the charging circuit and adapter at the same time. On a 2020 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Honor MagicBook 14, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Notes from the workshop
- On models with the camera in the keyboard, the camera is replaced with the keyboard assembly.
- Memory is soldered on MateBook and MagicBook laptops; most have a replaceable M.2 SSD.
- Charging is over USB-C, and port or charging-circuit faults are the common board repair.
Data recovery from the Honor MagicBook 14
The SSD in the Honor MagicBook 14 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start. Recent Windows machines often have device encryption or BitLocker switched on. If so we will need the recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.
Estimate the cost with our data recovery calculator, or read about recovering files after a ransomware attack.
Where the Honor MagicBook 14 sits in the range
Its nearest relatives in the Honor MagicBook range are the newer Honor MagicBook X 14 (2021). It is the earliest 14-inch model of the range that we list.
Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Honor MagicBook 14 be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded.
My Honor MagicBook 14 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
Can the Honor MagicBook 14 run Windows 11?
Yes, in most configurations.
How do I get my Honor MagicBook 14 to you?
Bring it to our workshop at Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to ask about courier collection. We confirm the price before any work starts.
