We repair the ASUS ZenBook UX430 at our workshop in Bermondsey, from cracked screens and worn batteries to board faults and data recovery. It is a 14-inch laptop from 2017. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

What we repair on the ASUS ZenBook UX430
Screen replacement
A broken 14-inch screen is replaced with a panel of the same resolution and finish. We check the display cable while the lid is open.

Windows repair and reinstall
Windows 11 support depends on the processor: versions with an 8th-generation Intel Core or Ryzen 2000-series chip or newer qualify, and earlier ones do not. We check yours and advise.
Battery replacement
A new internal battery is fitted and tested through a full charge and discharge. At this age, short runtime and sudden shutdowns usually point to a worn battery and not a board fault.

Charging port and power repair
Depending on the configuration this charges through a round socket, USB-C or both. We test the adapter, the port and the charging circuit to find which has failed.
SSD and storage upgrade
The ASUS ZenBook UX430 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
On most configurations of the ASUS ZenBook UX430, part of the memory is soldered and there is one free slot, so it can be increased but not replaced entirely.
We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the ASUS ZenBook UX430, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Known issues with the ZenBook range
- ZenBook memory is soldered on most models, and the keyboard is part of the top case.
- OLED panels are replaced like-for-like; they are sensitive to pressure, so lid and hinge damage often takes the screen with it.
- USB-C charging faults are a common board repair on recent generations.
Data recovery from the ASUS ZenBook UX430
The SSD in the ASUS ZenBook UX430 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start.

Where the ASUS ZenBook UX430 sits in the range
Its nearest relatives in the ASUS ZenBook range are the newer ASUS ZenBook 14 UX431 (2019). Memory differs: part soldered, one slot on most configurations on the ASUS ZenBook UX430, soldered on the ASUS ZenBook 14 UX431. It is the earliest 14-inch model of the range that we list.
Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the ASUS ZenBook UX430 be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Part of the memory is soldered, with one slot free on most configurations.
My ASUS ZenBook UX430 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
How much does a ASUS ZenBook UX430 screen replacement cost?
Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
Is a 2017 ASUS ZenBook UX430 still worth repairing?
It depends on the fault. A battery, SSD or charging socket is usually worth doing. A major board repair on an older machine may cost more than the machine is worth, and if that is the case we will say so.
