ASUS VivoBook 17 M712 repairs and upgrades
Screen replacement
Cracked, flickering or lined 17.3-inch screens are replaced with a matching panel. Where the picture comes and goes as the lid moves, we check the display cable and hinges first.

Windows repair and reinstall
The ASUS VivoBook 17 M712 meets Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements in most configurations. We upgrade from Windows 10, which reached end of support in October 2025, or reinstall Windows 11 cleanly with your files kept.
Battery replacement
A new internal battery is fitted and tested through a full charge and discharge. At this age, short runtime and sudden shutdowns usually point to a worn battery and not a board fault.

Charging port and power repair
Depending on the configuration this charges through a round socket, USB-C or both. We test the adapter, the port and the charging circuit to find which has failed.
SSD and storage upgrade
The ASUS VivoBook 17 M712 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
On most configurations of the ASUS VivoBook 17 M712, part of the memory is soldered and there is one free slot, so it can be increased but not replaced entirely.
We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the ASUS VivoBook 17 M712, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
What we see on the bench
- Many have some memory soldered with one slot free.
- VivoBook hinges are mounted in plastic and can break out of the lid or base.
- ASUS model codes like X515 or M1502 are followed by letters for the exact variant; we match parts to the full code on the base label.
Data recovery from the ASUS VivoBook 17 M712
The SSD in the ASUS VivoBook 17 M712 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start. Recent Windows machines often have device encryption or BitLocker switched on. If so we will need the recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.
