USB Stick Data Recovery
We recover data from USB sticks that are bent, snapped, not recognised or asking to be formatted.
Signs you need recovery
- The connector is bent or has snapped off
- The stick is detected as an unknown device, or with no capacity
- Windows asks to format it
- Files have turned into shortcuts or unreadable names
What not to do
- Do not keep wiggling a loose connector to get a connection.
- Do not format the stick when prompted.
- Do not try to glue or solder a broken connector unless you have done it before; the pads lift easily.
How we recover it
A broken connector is repaired or bypassed so the stick can be read normally. If the controller chip has failed, the memory is read directly and the data rebuilt from it.
Worth knowing
- Many small and budget sticks are single-chip designs, which take longer to recover because there is no separate memory chip to read.
- Unbranded sticks sold with implausibly large capacities are often fakes that overwrite their own data once full. Files written past the real capacity cannot be recovered.
What it costs
From £99 + VAT. The price depends on what has gone wrong far more than on how much data there is. Use the data recovery calculator for an estimate. The initial consultation is free, and the price is confirmed before recovery starts.

Questions
How much does USB Stick recovery cost?
From £99 + VAT. The exact figure depends on the fault, and we confirm it after examining the drive, before recovery starts.
Will my files be kept private?
Yes. We open files only to check that the recovery worked, and the recovered data is returned to you on a separate drive.
How do I get it to you?
Bring it to Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to arrange courier collection. Pack a bare drive in an anti-static bag with padding on every side.
