We repair the Lenovo ThinkPad T570 at our workshop in Bermondsey, from cracked screens and worn batteries to board faults and data recovery. It is a 15.6-inch laptop from 2017, identified by machine types 20H9, 20HA. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

Lenovo ThinkPad T570 repairs and upgrades
Screen replacement
We replace the 15.6-inch panel like-for-like, matching resolution and connector to the part number on the original.

SSD and storage upgrade
The Lenovo ThinkPad T570 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Lenovo ThinkPad T570 have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
Windows repair and reinstall
Windows 11 support depends on the processor: versions with an 8th-generation Intel Core or Ryzen 2000-series chip or newer qualify, and earlier ones do not. We check yours and advise.
Battery replacement
We replace the internal battery and check the charging circuit and adapter at the same time. On a 2017 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

Keyboard and trackpad repair
The keyboard is a separate part on most ThinkPads and is replaced without disturbing the rest of the machine. Trackpad and TrackPoint buttons are replaced the same way.
Charging port and power repair
Depending on the configuration this charges through a round socket, USB-C or both. We test the adapter, the port and the charging circuit to find which has failed.
We also carry out motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Lenovo ThinkPad T570, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Notes from the workshop
- From the T480s onward many T-series models have one soldered memory module and one free slot.
- On the T480 and T580, USB-C and Thunderbolt charging failures are a known fault, often linked to out-of-date Thunderbolt firmware.
- A forgotten supervisor password is stored in a security chip and cannot be reset from software.
- ThinkPad keyboards, batteries and SSDs are accessible and well supported with parts, which makes most repairs economical.
Data recovery from the Lenovo ThinkPad T570
The SSD in the Lenovo ThinkPad T570 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start.
Estimate the cost with our data recovery calculator, or read about recovering files after a ransomware attack.
Where the Lenovo ThinkPad T570 sits in the range
Its nearest relatives in the Lenovo ThinkPad T Series range are the older Lenovo ThinkPad T560 (2016) and the newer Lenovo ThinkPad T580 (2018). Storage differs too: M.2 SSD, replaceable on the Lenovo ThinkPad T570, 2.5-inch SATA drive on the Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Lenovo ThinkPad T570 be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My Lenovo ThinkPad T570 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
How do I get my Lenovo ThinkPad T570 to you?
Bring it to our workshop at Unit 1 The Willows, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY, or call 020 7237 6805 to ask about courier collection. We confirm the price before any work starts.
How much does a Lenovo ThinkPad T570 screen replacement cost?
Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
