We repair the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 at our workshop in Bermondsey, from cracked screens and worn batteries to board faults and data recovery. It is a 14-inch laptop from 2022. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 repairs and upgrades
Screen replacement
Cracked, flickering or lined 14-inch screens are replaced with a matching panel. Where the picture comes and goes as the lid moves, we check the display cable and hinges first.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
Windows repair and reinstall
The Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 shipped with Windows 11. We repair start-up faults, reinstall Windows cleanly with your files kept, and remove malware.
Battery replacement
We replace the internal battery and check the charging circuit and adapter at the same time. On a 2022 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

Keyboard and trackpad repair
The keyboard is a separate part on most ThinkPads and is replaced without disturbing the rest of the machine. Trackpad and TrackPoint buttons are replaced the same way.
Charging port and power repair
Charging is over USB-C. A loose or dead port is replaced where it is a separate part, or repaired on the motherboard where it is soldered.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.
Price confirmed before work starts
We also carry out motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
What we see on the bench
- Plastic chassis parts around the hinges can crack on older E-series machines.
- ThinkPad E and L series are simple to work on, and most have a replaceable SSD and at least one memory slot.
Data recovery from the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3
The SSD in the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start. Recent Windows machines often have device encryption or BitLocker switched on. If so we will need the recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.

Can the SSD or memory in the Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
How much does a Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 3 screen replacement cost?
Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
Where do I find the model number on my laptop?
The base label shows the model name and a machine type, four characters such as 20W0 or 82H8.
