If your Lenovo ThinkPad E570 has a broken screen, will not charge, runs hot or will not start, we can diagnose and repair it at our Bermondsey workshop. It is a 15.6-inch laptop from 2017, identified by machine types 20H5, 20H6. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

Lenovo ThinkPad E570 repairs and upgrades
Screen replacement
We replace the 15.6-inch panel like-for-like, matching resolution and connector to the part number on the original.

Windows repair and reinstall
Windows 11 support depends on the processor: versions with an 8th-generation Intel Core or Ryzen 2000-series chip or newer qualify, and earlier ones do not. We check yours and advise.
Battery replacement
The battery is internal and held by screws. We fit a new one, then calibrate and test it under load. On a 2017 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

Keyboard and trackpad repair
The keyboard is a separate part on most ThinkPads and is replaced without disturbing the rest of the machine. Trackpad and TrackPoint buttons are replaced the same way.
Charging port and power repair
Depending on the configuration this charges through a round socket, USB-C or both. We test the adapter, the port and the charging circuit to find which has failed.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Lenovo ThinkPad E570 takes an M.2 SSD. We clone the existing drive to a larger one so Windows, programs and files carry over unchanged.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Lenovo ThinkPad E570 have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
We also carry out motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Lenovo ThinkPad E570, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Notes from the workshop
- Plastic chassis parts around the hinges can crack on older E-series machines.
- ThinkPad E and L series are simple to work on, and most have a replaceable SSD and at least one memory slot.
Data recovery from the Lenovo ThinkPad E570
The SSD in the Lenovo ThinkPad E570 can be removed and imaged on our own equipment, so files can usually be recovered even when the machine will not start.
Estimate the cost with our data recovery calculator, or read about recovering files after a ransomware attack.
Where the Lenovo ThinkPad E570 sits in the range
Its nearest relatives in the Lenovo ThinkPad E and L Series range are the older Lenovo ThinkPad E560 (2016) and the newer Lenovo ThinkPad E580 (2018). Storage differs too: M.2 SSD, replaceable on the Lenovo ThinkPad E570, 2.5-inch SATA drive on the Lenovo ThinkPad E560.
Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Lenovo ThinkPad E570 be upgraded?
The SSD can be replaced with a larger M.2 drive. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My Lenovo ThinkPad E570 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
Is a 2017 Lenovo ThinkPad E570 still worth repairing?
It depends on the fault. A battery, SSD or charging socket is usually worth doing. A major board repair on an older machine may cost more than the machine is worth, and if that is the case we will say so.
Where do I find the model number on my laptop?
The base label shows the model name and a machine type, four characters such as 20W0 or 82H8. For this model, look for 20H5 or 20H6.
