Repairs we carry out on the Intel NUC 5 NUC5i5RYH
Power supply repair
A mini PC that shows no signs of life often has a failed external power adapter. We test with a known-good adapter before looking at the board.
Windows repair and reinstall
This model does not meet Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements, and Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025. We can advise on the realistic options, including a lightweight Linux or ChromeOS Flex installation.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Intel NUC 5 NUC5i5RYH has an M.2 slot and, on some configurations, a 2.5-inch bay. Machines that shipped with a hard drive are much faster once moved to an SSD.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Intel NUC 5 NUC5i5RYH have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
We also carry out motherboard repair, overheating and fan repair, virus removal on the Intel NUC 5 NUC5i5RYH, along with no-picture and no-boot diagnosis, port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement and data transfer to a new PC.
What we see on the bench
- A NUC that appears dead often has a failed adapter, not a failed board.
- The H in the model code means the taller case with room for a 2.5-inch drive; K is the slim case without one.
- NUC mini PCs use laptop-style memory and M.2 storage, with an external power adapter.

The model code, for example NUC10i7FNH, is on the label underneath. For this model, look for NUC5i5RYH.
Can the Intel NUC 5 NUC5i5RYH run Windows 11?
