MSI Cubi 5 repairs and upgrades
Power supply repair
A mini PC that shows no signs of life often has a failed external power adapter. We test with a known-good adapter before looking at the board.
SSD and storage upgrade
The MSI Cubi 5 has room for SATA drives and, on most boards, an M.2 SSD. The usual upgrade is an SSD for Windows and programs with the old drive kept for storage.

Memory upgrade
The MSI Cubi 5 uses standard desktop memory. We check the board’s limits and fit matched modules.
Windows repair and reinstall
The MSI Cubi 5 meets Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements in most configurations. We upgrade from Windows 10, which reached end of support in October 2025, or reinstall Windows 11 cleanly with your files kept.
We also carry out motherboard repair, overheating and fan repair, virus removal on the MSI Cubi 5, along with no-picture and no-boot diagnosis, port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement and data transfer to a new PC.
Notes from the workshop
- Gaming desktops from the big brands mix standard parts with some brand-specific motherboards, cases and power supplies, so upgrades are checked against the chassis first.
- Overheating is usually dust, a failed fan or a liquid cooler pump at the end of its life.
- A PC that powers on with no picture is more often memory, graphics card or power supply than a dead motherboard.
Data recovery from the MSI Cubi 5
Desktop drives are removed and imaged on our own equipment. If the MSI Cubi 5 has more than one drive, or a RAID array, bring the whole machine so we can see how it was set up.
Estimate the cost with our data recovery calculator, or read about recovering files after a ransomware attack.
Where the MSI Cubi 5 sits in the range

Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the MSI Cubi 5 be upgraded?
Drives can be added or replaced. Memory uses standard slots and can be increased.
My MSI Cubi 5 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
How much does it cost to repair a MSI Cubi 5?
Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
Where do I find the model number on my mini PC?
The model is on a label on the back, side or underside of the machine.
